Anthony Lucas-Smith

I am a Visiting Research Fellow in the Design and Innovation Group. As past course team chair of the postgraduate research course (T802) for technology MSc students, I have been involved with distance learning in research methodology.
My research interests include the industrial application of intelligent agents and multi-agent systems possessing self-organisation, and also computer vision. I am currently co-supervising 4 part-time PhD students.

Current Projects

Intelligent Geometry Compressor (IGC) The application of multi-agent systems (distributed intelligence) to control variable geometry blading in axial compressors. This has the potential to improve the performance, stability, safety and reliability of compressors used in jet engines and in gas distribution systems.
